Rau Muống

Lâu rồi tui không ra tiệm tạp hoá chợ tàu mua hạt giống rau muống về trồng. 2 dollars 1 gói nhỏ xíu khoảng vài chục hạt nhỏ màu nâu đậm. Rau chỉ mọc một muà rồi năm sau có thích ăn rau muống thì phải trồng lại từ đầu muà hè hay giữa muà xuân.

Rau muống còn non bỏ bớt lá, chẻ dọc cọng rau muống rồi pha nước sauce gồm một chút dấm + một chút xì dầu + một chút dầu thực vật, trộn nước sauce rồi rưới lên rau muống chẻ. Xào thịt bò ăn chung với rau muống theo kiểu này rất ngon. Nếu ăn chay thì thay vì thịt bò lại ăn với tofu chiên.

Năm nay không trồng rau muống, chỉ trồng xàlách nhờ hạt giống năm ngoái gói trong cái bao mà rau xàlách lại non ăn rất ngon với một chút sauce chanh thôi.

Anh xã nhổ sạch cỏ trong vườn, mà khi phát hiện cây rau muống nhỏ anh lại chừa lại còn gọi tui tới chỉ cho tui xem.

Giữa đống rau cỏ tùm lum anh giữ cây rau muống cho em, cô vợ thích cây cỏ.... Em thật vui và anh còn tưới cho nó mau lớn nữa. Khi cây rau muống ra vài cọng dài dài tui ngắt đọt cho nó mọc thêm nhánh bên. Tui không hái nó làm xàlách trên bàn ăn mà để nó phát triển tự nhiên. Bụi rau uống tươi đẹp và tui đang chờ nó ra hoa, tui nhớ hoa rau muống có hình dạng giống hoa bìm bịp hay là hoa petunia màu hồng phấn. Tháng chín rồi , nhiệt độ có ngày nóng ấm trên 20 độ xê, có ngày mát hơn chút. Không mưa và mặc dù khô hạn, tui nghĩ rau muống thích nhiều nước. Nhưng cho dù thiếu nước cây rau muống trong vườn vẫn tươi xanh và phát triển tốt, mỗi ngày dài ra và bò dọc ngang trong vườn. Thỉnh thoảng bước tới bước lui tui vô ý dạp nhằm một cọng non bẹp dí bèn nói xin lỗi cây rau muống đó. Tui không hề có ý ăn nó theo kiểu trộn xàlách đâu. Tui không trồng mà nó mà hạt giống từ năm xưa giấu trong vườn mọc lại hay sao đó mà nó tới vườn nhà tui và anh xã nhổ cỏ thì nhổ sạch trụi bất kể hoa lá lại chừa nó ra nên nó trở nên quý hiếm đó mà. Hy vọng vài bữa nữa rau muống ra hoa cho tui ngắm và kết hạt trước khi muà đông tới.

Water spinach

It's been a long time since I went to the Chinese market grocery store to buy water spinach seeds to plant. 2 dollars for a tiny package of about a few dozen small, dark brown seeds. The vegetable only grows for one season, and the following year, if you want to eat water spinach, you have to plant it again from the beginning of summer or mid-spring.

Remove the leaves from the young water spinach stems, split the water spinach lengthwise, then mix the sauce with a little vinegar + a little soy sauce + a little vegetable oil, mix the sauce and pour it over the split water spinach stems. Stir-fried beef with water spinach is delicious this way. If you're a vegetarian, instead of beef, eat it with fried tofu.

This year, I didn't plant water spinach, only planted lettuce thanks to last year's seeds that I packaged in a bag, and the young lettuce is delicious with a little lemon sauce.

My husband pulled all the weeds in the garden, but when he discovered the small water spinach, he left it and called me to show it to me.

- Look, there is a small water spinach plant that I just discovered.

In the middle of the messy pile of vegetables, he kept the water spinach plant for me. His loves plants wife.... I was so happy and I even watered it to help it grow faster. When the water spinach plant had a few long stems, I cut off the top so that it could grow more branches. I did not pick it to make salad on the dining table but let it grow naturally. The water spinach bush is beautiful and I am waiting for its flowers to bloom. I remember that the water spinach flower has the shape of a morning glory or a pink petunia flower. It is September, the temperature is hot and warm some days, above 20 degrees Celsius, some days a little cooler. There is no rain and although it is dry the water spinach still growing well, I think water spinach likes a lot of water. But even though it lacks water, the water spinach plant in the garden is still green and growing well, growing longer each day and crawling across the garden. Occasionally, walking back and forth, I accidentally stepped on a flattened young stem and apologized to that water spinach plant. I never meant to eat it in salad. I didn’t plant it, but the seeds from years ago hidden in the garden grew back or something, and it came by itself to my garden, and my husband pulled out all the flowers and leaves around the garden, but he left it alone, so it became rare. Hopefully in a few days the water spinach will bloom for me to see and produce seeds before winter comes.
